The current beta Eidolon is not the card an older Necrobinder guide may describe. Its job is to use eligible cards already in the Exhaust pile, not to turn a nine-card hand into Intangible.

That makes the pile itself the first thing to inspect. A large Exhaust pile can still offer a poor Eidolon turn.

Separate the rework from the later restriction

The v0.109 beta replaced Eidolon's hand-Exhaust and Intangible condition with an effect that plays all Ethereal cards in the Exhaust pile. Eidolon then Exhausts.

The v0.110 patch added a separate restriction: Eidolon can no longer be generated mid-combat. These are two different changes. The latter removes a route to acquiring it during a fight; it does not say that a copy you already brought into the fight is unusable.

The Eidolon reference page includes older main-branch material. Do not combine that old Intangible text with the new beta replay effect and plan around a card that does not exist.

Count eligible cards, not the whole pile

Open the Exhaust pile and inspect each potential payoff. The beta wording requires Ethereal cards. An ordinary card that was Exhausted by another effect does not qualify merely because it shares the pile.

Then consider what the eligible cards actually do now. Damage, defense, and setup can have very different values depending on the encounter state. Several low-impact cards are not automatically better than one timely answer.

If there are no eligible cards, the imagined future payoff is not yet available. Do not spend the turn as though it were.

Compare playing a card now with saving its replay

An Ethereal card may offer immediate value before it reaches the Exhaust pile. Letting it go unused just to prepare Eidolon can mean giving up damage or defense today.

Compare the complete sequence. What does the current turn lose? When can Eidolon be played? Will the fight still need the effect at that point? A replay plan that takes unnecessary damage during setup may be worse than simply using the original card.

The Necrobinder guide helps keep this package subordinate to the run's actual survival and damage needs.

Do not assume an exact replay order

The patch wording establishes the eligible group. It does not, by itself, document every targeting, ordering, or special interaction that might matter in a complicated pile.

If a line only works when one card resolves before another, verify that behavior in the current client before calling it reliable. Likewise, do not turn a speculative interaction into a promised infinite loop. Report an unverified interaction as unverified.

For ordinary decisions, prefer a pile whose useful effects remain useful without a fragile ordering assumption. That is easier to evaluate and less likely to hide a failed turn behind an impressive card count.

Bring the payoff instead of hoping to generate it

The v0.110 generation restriction matters when planning around random card creation. A generation engine cannot be treated as a backup source of Eidolon.

Assess copies actually available to the run, their draw timing, and the support already present. Draw and Energy still constrain the payoff even when the Exhaust pile looks ready.

Before committing, make one final comparison with the hand you have. If the current cards already finish the fight safely, there is no need to delay the win merely to demonstrate the replay package.
