A Regent hand can play many cards without creating many cards. That distinction decides whether Pillar of Creation is a defensive engine or a Power that produces too little Block to justify its setup.

Count creations, not clicks

The v0.110 patch restored Pillar of Creation's effect on every created card and changed its Block to 2, or 3 upgraded. The later v0.111 notes did not alter Pillar again.

A draw, a replay and a creation are different actions. Read the support card's effect instead of assuming that every extra card played triggers Pillar. The database entry includes the main-branch text and beta notice.

Work through a representative hand

With one Pillar active, three card creations produce 6 printed Block, or 9 from an upgraded Pillar, before other modifiers. Six creations produce 12 or 18.

Those totals are not free if the generators cost Energy, Stars, cards or time. Write down what you spent to produce them and what else the hand could have done. If a conventional defensive card covers the attack more cheaply, that may be the stronger line for the current turn.

A generation engine can become worthwhile across later turns. Its first turn still has to survive paying for the Power and getting the relevant cards into play.

Keep Regalite's rule separate

Current beta Regalite gives 4 Block on the first card creation each turn. It does not add another 4 for every subsequent creation.

With both effects active and no other modifiers, the arithmetic looks like this:

Cards created this turnPillar plus RegaliteUpgraded Pillar plus Regalite
167
31013
61622

This table assumes one Pillar and one Regalite. The Regalite guide covers the relic's separate balance change and first-trigger restriction.

When the upgrade matters

Pillar's upgrade adds one Block for each qualifying creation. If your normal defensive turn creates two cards, that is two extra printed Block. If it creates six, the difference is six.

Use a realistic hand, not the deck's best possible showcase turn, when choosing an upgrade. A large theoretical gain is less useful if the needed generator rarely appears before you take damage.

Do you need another generator?

Ask whether the new card improves the turn even when Pillar is not drawn. It may provide useful damage or flexibility, or it may depend entirely on a Power you have not found.

Adding weak generators can make setup slower by filling the deck with more cards. That cost is easy to miss when each new card has a theoretical synergy. Keep enough immediate defense to handle turns where the engine is missing.

The Regent Star and Forge guide covers competing resource demands. Build the combination your rewards support, and keep a separate answer for the first dangerous hand.
